So then, I suggest that you contact the publisher’s Technical Service for assistance (via their "Support" function you might also review the "System Requirements"). Ultimately though, irrespective of the source of the problem, I doubt that anyone on the forum can help you. Rosetta Stone 5.0.37 language install dir - LLORG - April 2018 Perhaps you are experiencing a problem similar to the one described in the following thread: Nevertheless, having read many comments concerning these products on the internet, I suspect that the problems you have been experiencing might be related to one of two issues: (1) the older edition which you purchased might not be compatible with the platform on which you are trying to run it, or (b) Rosetta Stone’s security features (which might have changed since the older edition was published) might be interfering with its correct functioning. Welcome to the forum, magicspeller! I have never used the Rosetta Stone products. Has anyone been able to use older language CDs with the version 5 software? I've tried everything I could think of to get Rosetta Stone Support to answer a simple question, only to get the response that versions 4 and 5 are "self supported" now, along with a sales pitch for their online version (at a great sale price - not!).Īny help you RS users can give me would be much appreciated! According to Wikipedia, version 4 is downward compatible with older language lessons, and I'm assuming (hoping?) that that might be the case with version 5 as well. Rather, it does install, but the program doesn't run (no error message, just that nothing happens). I cannot get it to install on my Windows 10 system. Unfortunately, the Spanish course I have running is version 5 of the software, and the one I just bought is version 4. I've never finished the course, but for some reason when I saw a really good price on the Chinese course (also on CD) a few weeks ago, I bought it, just assuming that I'd be able to use it along with the Spanish course. I made the mistake several years ago of buying the Spanish course (on CD) when it was on sale. However, there do appear to be a few users here. I've read through several of the Rosetta Stone discussions, and in general I agree with all the criticisms of the courses. This looks like a really interesting site. I'm new here, so please let me know if there's an appropriate forum to post this in.
